I’m Going Light – TV, Films, & Soaps

I’ve always been accused of watching too much TV. My standard reply – When you can organize, multitask, and accomplish as much as I do while watching TV, then we’ll talk. So let me tell you what I’m liking right now.

Soaps – I’ve watched soaps all my life. ALL my life. The only one I never could get into was Santa Barbara, despite coveting A. Martinez’s hot bod. With friends and relatives who have worked on the soaps, I’m always sniffing for and screaming about plots. Right now I hate them all. Talk about a lack of integrity on the part of soap’s management. They’re writing rubbish and expecting us to just buy it. NOT. and NOT. But I do keep up with whichever ones I can somewhat stomach (right now that’s Y&R, B&B, and AMC) via recaps and chats, until a plot interests me enough to tune in again. And for those who feel just, like I do (are you singing some Marvin Gaye now LOL), here’s a great article I found Friday to get us through the dark times.

Films – Sex and the City is out on HBO. This is still one of my all time favorite movies because it was one of my all time favorite shows. And although I wasn’t a big fan of J Hud’s when I saw the movie the first 5 or 6 times, last nite I found myself feeling her. Maybe it was because of the tragedy she has suffered. Maybe it was Pitt losing to Villanova in the last .055 second of the game and my life feeling over (Memphis lost the night before so could it get any worse, uh yes. Louisville was about to lose to MSU. sigh.) Whatever, I felt the love, and SATC hit the spot and tracked my tears of despair. I really have to give up sports … I say for the 8 millionth time.

TV – I love the new Castle show on ABC. Nathan Fillion of One Life to Live fame is very good and lovable. Love me some The Locator on WE. If you want to cry buckets watch families being united … or not. Yes, last week a mother told her daughter her hatred of her father was so much she could not reunite with the daughter who was looking for her mother because it would open wounds she wanted to keep closed. Ouch. I love NCIS, Lie to Me, Life, Numbers, Flashpoint. Yes, I’m back watching Grey’s Anatomy although I still want T.R. Knight and Katherine Heigl gone gone gone. Heigl sucking up now saying she’d love to stay. Of course you would honey. Love Shonda’s other show Private Practice. Since I thought she miscast this show and I was wrong, I hold out hopes for her new show which I also think is miscast. LOL Are you watching the new show Dollhouse on NBC? Kinky fun. Brothers and Sisters, had me at hello. And Damages, WOW. Finally, if you’ve forgotten or ever loved ER, Thursday is the finale. I came back this year because it deserved my respectful goodbye. That’s it, except for my compality shows (my word instead of reality). America’s Next Top Model, Last Restaurant Standing, Iron Chef America, Anthony Bourdain, Anthony Bourdain, Anthony Bourdain, Guy of FNC. And by the way FNC your hypocrisy in letting Robert go was stupid. We need him on Dinner Impossible. Michael Simon is an arse. Forensic and legal shows on cable. Real NCIS. Oh, my cartoons. Dora, Kim Possible, Superman, Batman, Justice League, Lilo, Timba, etc.

Bet you thought I was kidding about watching TV, didn’t you? What do you watch? Anything good?
